Park, local communities celebrate the skills, pride and protection 26 new schools can bring.
The Resilient Infrastructure team of Gorongosa National Park met with community members to share results from projects across the Sustainable Development Zone’s six districts and to listen to their ideas for the future.
Together, they celebrated the construction of 26 schools—each built with local hands. Men and women who took part in the work received certificates of participation, recognizing their effort and opening doors to future opportunities in construction.
The team showcased photos that told the story of progress—from the first stone laid to the moment each classroom opened its doors.
Community members, teachers, and students joined in a conversation about caring for these schools—keeping them clean, safe, and strong for the generations to come. Beyond classrooms, these buildings now stand as vital shelters during severe storms.
