Ecology Day, which is usually celebrated on September 14th, is an important date that invites us to reflect on the relationship between humans and the environment. This day aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving ecosystems, protecting biodiversity, and promoting sustainable practices in our daily lives. By celebrating ecology, we are also valuing the balance of nature and the responsibility we all have in building a greener, healthier future for future generations.

It is worth noting that the activity is celebrated annually byPark’s master’s students. This year, it was proposed, planned, and logistically coordinated by the students, with the support of technicians from the science department and all other departments working hard to protect and conserve biodiversity.

The presentation about ecology day and the demonstration of Parthenium removal are expected to raise awareness and mobilize the approximately 1000 PNG workers to the problem of invasive species (which have major impacts on local species populations worldwide).
