Nedbank Strengthens Conservation Efforts in Gorongosa National Park
We are excited to announce the renewal of our Partnership Agreement with Nedbank, marking another step forward in our mission to protect Gorongosa’s rich biodiversity. This collaboration will play a crucial role in supporting our Law Enforcement and Veterinary Services, particularly in the conservation of endangered species like pangolins through our Pangolin Rehabilitation Center.
Thanks to Nedbank’s support, we’ll be able to bolster our ranger teams, enabling them to enforce stronger measures against poaching and illegal wildlife trade. These efforts are vital, especially for species at risk of extinction, such as pangolins, which are critical to the ecosystem but have suffered significantly due to habitat loss and poaching. With this partnership, we aim to rescue, rehabilitate, and reintroduce these remarkable animals back into their natural environment. In addition, we’ll continue raising awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation, while also expanding our educational outreach to local communities and the public at large.
Nedbank’s long-standing commitment to wildlife protection and its support for Gorongosa National Park are perfect examples of the power of collaboration. A recent visit to the Park by Dr. Joel Rodrigues, Nedbank’s Executive Director, reaffirmed his dedication to the critical work being done here, as well as our shared responsibility in preserving the incredible biodiversity of Gorongosa for future generations.
