Park workers learn to recognize, manage and support mental health.
Like bright yellow balloons rising into the sky, Gorongosa National Park’s Health Team lifted spirits and awareness during a recent lecture on mental health—recognized as a fundamental human right and vital to personal, community, and economic well-being.
The session encouraged workers to stay alert to the quiet signs of stress or depression that can build over time, affecting not only one’s work but also the family and community around them. Participants learned ways to face life’s stressful moments, strengthen their skills, and support one another in creating healthier, more resilient communities.
The event carried messages of courage, peace, and love—reminding everyone that caring for mental health is not a weakness but a shared strength. If signs of distress appear, workers were encouraged to reach out to the nearest health center for support.
