In March, a UNDP team visited Gorongosa National Park to oversee the activities of the IWT/PROBIO project and visited some of the sites they fund. One of these sites was the Mecombezi Ponte community, where they interacted with the Natural Resources Management Committee, community leaders and rangers who shared their activities and efforts in the search for better living conditions and coexistence with wild animals.

During this visit the team had the opportunity to interact with the District administration, the judicial services and the Police of the Republic of Mozambique where they were able to understand first-hand how our integrated project works and our partnership with the government to ensure sustainability. And finally, they visited the coffee factory financed by the GEF grant a few years ago, which created the basis for the process of making Gorongosa Products a profitable business.
