Gorongosa National Park is proud to announce the release of its latest short film, Gorongosa: A Journey of Transformation & Tourism, featuring the park’s youngest qualified female guide, Dadiva David Salomao.
This captivating film showcases Dadiva’s unique perspective as she navigates the breathtaking landscapes and rich biodiversity of Gorongosa, while also highlighting the remarkable conservation efforts that have revitalised this once-threatened ecosystem.
Through Dadiva’s eyes, viewers will experience the park’s stunning transformation over the past two decades that’s been recovered from the shadows of civil war, to a vibrant haven for wildlife and a thriving community hub. Her passionate narration provides an intimate connection to the land, revealing the profound relationship between the park and the local people who call it home.
Dadiva’s closes the film with an impactful quote, “I know people can go on holiday anywhere in the world, but here in Gorongosa, we are using tourism to try change the world. So come and see us, it might just change your life too.”
This short film was created with the aim of inspiring travellers worldwide to experience the wonders of Gorongosa and see how responsible tourism supports the ongoing transformation and conservation efforts in and outside the park.
