Improved nutrition, clean drinking water, one million more trees and increased income for 13,000 small holder farms are included in a letter of intent signed by the Gorongosa Restoration Project and the Netherlands Embassy in Mozambique.
The Netherlands may commit up to € 20 million (€ 5 million per year) to:
- Enhance the Park’s sustainable development efforts.
- Support the Gorongosa Project’s health care, education and job training programs.
- Reduce poverty.
- Increase the number of women and youth served in nearby communities.
Right to Play – an international organization that “protects, educates and empowers children to rise above adversity” – is a partner.
