Many primary school teachers in the communities surrounding Gorongosa National Park face great challenges with managing large or mixed classes, which leads teachers to redouble their efforts in the teaching process.
One solution to not having enough teachers or classrooms is to teach school administrators how to manage large and mixed classes and through simulated teaching practice according to the reality of the local schools.
Despite the challenges the education sector is going through, these trainings are expected to help local educators improve the quality of teaching process and increase the learning abilities of children in the classrooms.
This training program is delivered through a partnership between the Teacher Training Institutes of Cheringoma, Inhamizua, and Manga in Sofala province, and Gorongosa National Park through its Teachers’ Club Program.
The Teachers’ Club Program was launched on June 23, 2020 and is currently working in 28 elementary schools in communities surrounding Gorongosa National Park.
