The spirit of World Water Day came to life in the Madzimachena community this year with games, learning and stories.
Organized by the Gorongosa National Park WASH team, the day was filled with engaging activities designed to highlight the critical role of water in our lives.
“Water in Motion”, an interactive and educational game, taught children about the importance of water conservation and helped them understand the value of every drop. Divided into teams, the children carried containers of symbolic water through a series of fun challenges, carefully trying to spill as little as possible.
After the game, a guided, educational talk for area students and local Girls Club members deepened their awareness of responsible water management, preservation and why safeguarding water is essential for future generations.
The event, led by Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) program manager Cremildo de Jesus Carmona, brought together community leaders, school representatives, WASH Program supervisors, and other key stakeholders, fostering a shared commitment to protecting and conserving water.
